I will STAND like a guard to watch and place myself at the tower.
I will WAIT to see what the Lord will say to me.
– Habakkuk 2:1

Sound the Alarm

After a quiet dinner alone at our favorite Cantonese hole in the wall, my husband and I were discussing the lateness of the “hour” and how the headlines that fulfill prophecy are rolling in faster than any one watchman can keep up. We asked ourselves, how should we be spending our time if we really believe that what we believe is really real? How do we put our time and resources where our faith lies? And how should we prepare our family for what lies ahead?

On the ride home, my phone self-started, and began a seven minute spasm which you can see on the video. It opened the alarms on its own, started a new alarm, and flipped through the hours faster than it flipped through the minutes. Several times I exited the app, back to the home screen, only for the alarms app to open immediately back up, and go right back to flipping through the hours.

Maybe smartphones glitch like this, but mine never had before, and never has since.

Considering the conversation we had been having, Greg and I took this as a clear sign that confirmed what we had been feeling, and what many have been saying, that it is time to sound the alarm. It is indeed late on God’s prophetic timeline, and people need to know that the time to repent is now. Today is the day of your salvation.

Do you know Jesus Christ? Have you repented of your sins and accepted His free gift of forgiveness? Do you acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and savior? If not, now is as good a time as any. Visit needhim.org and find out how to know Jesus.

If you are already a believer, are you living your life surrendered to His will? Are you keeping your life free of idols and worldliness? Do you read your Bible? Do you talk to others about the gospel of Jesus Christ? After several decades in ministry, we know that many, if not most, Christians answer all of those questions with a hesitant “no,” and it’s been our joy to help turn those no’s to yes’s.

In the weeks following this incident, the Lord revealed to us an assignment, and confirmed it to us through comments from friends, scripture, and dreams. We have been watchmen for many years, already sounding the alarm for Christ – so we were asking the Lord what else should we be doing. How can we be more proactive in equipping the saints, and we asked the Lord to confirm His message to believers in this hour.

The scope of our assignment is almost overwhelming, but it’s coming together. The standandwait.com site is now a reality and we’re producing videos and content. An education site for laypeople who find themselves in leadership roles is being developed, and our watchman duties are going to a new level with public discussion events and online conferences. Be sure to subscribe, +1, like, and otherwise keep in touch with us as we grow.

You will be encouraged and equipped with the resources and community we are building at standandwaitcom.
