Ken MacLeish - Bass Guitar
ken@standandwait.com

Ken MacLeish was born much too long ago in Stamford, Connecticut. Although most of the rest of his family were at least somewhat musically inclined, it was not until an eighth-grade talent show that he thought that playing an instrument in front of people might have some merit. That instrument was drums for the next seven years, until he switched to bass while in college, mostly out of frustration at the lack of improvement in his drumming.

He has been part of bands playing rock, jazz, fusion, acoustic/folk and other styles, but has always had a preference for music with a lot of energy, whatever the style might have been.

After becoming a Christian way too late in life, he began what seemed at times to be a hopeless search for other musicians who wanted to play, with a lot of energy, for the Lord. After a couple of false starts and wrong turns, he answered an ad that brought him to the rest of the current band members. For reasons that may never be completely clear, they decided that he was the bass player they wanted, and they kept him. Ken is pleased to have been the one to come up with the name "Stand and Wait", although he is pretty sure the name was a gift.
